;Mike Soroka
With a nickname like “Rock,” it’s no surprise Mike Soroka is a threat to the opposing team, and when he takes the mound, he’s a major force to be reckoned with. In Soroka’s first MLB game, the Canadian-born pitcher beat a record to become the first pitcher under 21 years old to win a major league debut in the past 15 years. Soroka was sidelined with a shoulder injury for much of 2018, but he’s made it clear in interviews since then that he’s put in the rehab work to keep his shoulder healthy.
Born August 4, 1997, Soroka attended Bishop Carroll High School in Calgary, Alberta. He pitched for the junior national team, before committing to play college baseball for the University of California, Berkeley. In 2015, The Braves drafted him 28th overall in the first round of the MLB Entry Draft.
